Sacred Pilgrimage – Five Temples of Lord Shiva

This Panch Kedar tour package includes the most stunning lifetime experience that will make you wonder why Uttarakhand is renowned as the real heaven. There are few places in the world where you can experience the natural beauty, magnificent peaks, majestic sunrise and sunset as well as seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.

This Panch Kedar trek package includes visits to five famous Shiva temples: Kedarnath, Tungnath, Rudranath, Madhyamaheshwar, and Kalpeshwar. According to history, the Pandavas were guilty of killing their cousins & relatives in the battle of Mahabharata. In order to get rid of their sins, they went in search of Lord Shiva to seek his blessings. But Lord Shiva was deeply annoyed with the Pandavas and took refuge in the form of a bull at Kedarnath. When the Pandavas came to know about his location, they approached him but Lord Shiva disappeared into the ground. Later his body parts reappeared at different locations which are popularly known as Panch Kedar. His Hump appeared in Kedarnath, Arms surfaced at Tungnath, Face at Rudranath, Navel at Madhyamaheshwar and Hairs at Kalpeshwar.

                DetailedItinerary

                Day 1 – Haridwar to Ransi (Drive - 230 kms/7 hrs approx.)

                Morning departure from Haridwar, driving through the scenic routes of Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Ukhimath before reaching Ransi, a serene village known for its tranquil surroundings. Ransi is the starting point of the Madhyamaheshwar trek. Enjoy an evening stroll around the village. Night halt at a guesthouse in Ransi.

                Day 2 – Ransi to Bantoli via Gaundhar

                Begin the trek with an easy descent through lush forests and alongside a flowing river. Pass through Gaundhar village, the last settlement on the route. The trek includes stretches of moderate ascents leading to Bantoli. Overnight stay in Bantoli in camps or basic guesthouses.

                Day 3 – Bantoli to Madhyamaheshwar

                A challenging ascent awaits as you trek towards Madhyamaheshwar. En route, cross scenic meadows, rocky trails, and small waterfalls. Key landmarks include Khatra Khal, Nanoor, and Maikhamba. Reach the ancient Madhyamaheshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and soak in the panoramic views of Chaukhamba peaks. Overnight stay near the temple.

                Day 4 – Madhyamaheshwar – Budha Madhyamaheshwar – Madhyamaheshwar – Gaundhar

                Wake up early for a short uphill hike to Budha Madhyamaheshwar, a vantage point offering breathtaking sunrise views over the Chaukhamba massif. Return to Madhyamaheshwar for breakfast before descending to Gaundhar. Enjoy the return trek through lush greenery and tranquil streams. Overnight stay in Gaundhar.

                Day 5 – Gaundhar – Ransi – Sagar Village

                Trek back to Ransi, retracing the path through forested trails and Gaundhar village. On arrival, take a vehicle transfer to Sagar village for an overnight halt. Sagar is the base for the Rudranath trek and offers picturesque views of the Garhwal Himalayas.

                Day 6 – Sagar – Panar Bugyal

                Begin the uphill trek through dense rhododendron forests, crossing picturesque meadows like Pun Bugyal, Mauli Karak, and Luiti Bugyal. The trek offers spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. Reach Panar Bugyal, a serene alpine meadow, for an overnight stay in tents.

                Day 7 – Panar Bugyal – Rudranath

                Hike along the scenic trails with gradual inclines, passing through Pitradhar and Naola Pass. The final 4 km stretch to Rudranath includes a steep ascent. Visit the Rudranath Temple, the toughest among the Panch Kedar shrines, and admire the stunning view of peaks like Nanda Devi and Trishul. Overnight stay in guesthouses near the temple.

                Day 8 – Rudranath – Panar Bugyal

                After the morning darshan at Rudranath, start the return trek to Panar Bugyal, enjoying the peaceful meadows and occasional wildlife sightings. Overnight stay in tents at Panar Bugyal.

                Day 9 – Panar Bugyal – Sagar Village – Chopta

                Descend back to Sagar village and then drive towards Chopta, also known as the "Mini Switzerland of India." Chopta is a popular base for the Tungnath trek and offers spectacular mountain vistas. Overnight stay in Chopta.

                Day 10 – Chopta – Tungnath & Chandrashila – Chopta – Sonprayag

                Trek to Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world, followed by a short but steep climb to Chandrashila Peak (4,000 m), offering a 360-degree view of Himalayan peaks. Return to Chopta and drive to Sonprayag for an overnight stay.

                Day 11 – Sonprayag – Gaurikund – Kedarnath

                Start early to reach Gaurikund and begin the 16 km trek to Kedarnath. The well-paved but steep trail passes through Rambara and offers magnificent views of waterfalls and glaciers. Reach Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Overnight stay at Kedarnath.

                Day 12 – Kedarnath – Gaurikund – Kund

                After morning prayers at Kedarnath, begin the descent to Gaurikund. Upon arrival, transfer to Kund for an overnight stay.

                Day 13 – Kund – Urgam

                Drive towards Urgam via Helang, passing through picturesque landscapes and traditional Himalayan villages. Urgam is known for its rustic beauty and natural charm. Evening at leisure to explore the village and interact with locals. Overnight stay in Urgam.

                Day 14 – Urgam – Kalpeshwar – Urgam – Haridwar

                Morning trek to Kalpeshwar, the final Panch Kedar temple, known for its cave shrine. After darshan, return to Urgam and commence the drive back to Haridwar. The journey concludes with drop-off at Haridwar for onward travel.

                End of Yatra. Return with the complete blessings of all five Panch Kedar temples!

                Cancellation & RefundPolicy

                Change/Cancellation of Booking by the Participant

                Process

                The cancellation process is completely automated. Please log in to your Dream Of Himalayas account and follow the instructions on your dashboard. You can choose between Instant Refund or Cash Refund as per the policy below.

                Replacement of Participants

                Participants can be replaced through the Dream Of Himalayas dashboard if the booking status is "Paid" and at least 5 days remain before departure. If you face issues, email info@dreamofhimalayas.com with a screenshot of the error. The new participant must submit a signed undertaking form.

                Note: Any Volvo/Train transport booked for the original participant will be automatically canceled and is non-transferable.

                Cash Refund Policy

                Cash refunds apply only for bookings made without promotional codes or vouchers. Refund amounts will be deducted as follows:

                • 30+ days before departure: 5% deduction
                • 15-30 days before departure: 50% deduction
                • Less than 15 days before departure: No Refund

                Refunds will be processed to the original payment method and are based on the Base Price of the yatra, excluding transport, insurance, and portage fees.

                Voucher Refund Policy

                Voucher refunds are available for all types of bookings, including promotional offers. Refund amounts will be:

                • 5+ days before departure: No deduction
                • Less than 5 days: No Refund

                Vouchers are valid for 10 months from the date of issue. The refunded voucher amount does not include service tax paid during the original booking.

                Cancellation or Change Initiated by Dream Of Himalayas

                We reserve the right to modify or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, natural disasters, low participation, or any force majeure events. If this occurs, you will be given the choice of:

                • A replacement event of equivalent value
                • A full refund (processed as a voucher valid for 6 months)

                If cancellation is due to low participation, participants can choose between a cash refund or a voucher.

                Changes/Cancellation After Departure

                Due to Force Majeure

                No refund will be provided for cancellations due to force majeure after departure.

                Other Reasons

                If cancellations occur for reasons other than force majeure, we will attempt to arrange alternative services or provide a refund in the form of a 6-month voucher (or cash, if preferred).

                Participant Dropout During the Event

                No refund will be provided if a participant voluntarily drops out of the yatra. Any additional costs incurred for return arrangements will be borne by the participant.

                Early Return from an Event

                If a participant returns early due to force majeure or an event ending sooner than planned, additional expenses (extra nights, transport) must be covered by the participant.

                Emergency Evacuation

                In case of a medical emergency, we will arrange evacuation to the nearest hospital. Any costs for porters, vehicles, ambulance services, or hospitalization must be covered by the participant.
